Studio, name and directions
Is it Meduza Ink or Medusa Ink?
The studio is called Meduza Ink – with a z. Because of the mythological figure Medusa, the name is often written “Medusa Ink”. Both refer to the same tattoo and piercing studio in Gelsenkirchen-Buer.
Where is the Meduza Ink tattoo studio?
At Horster Straße 85, 45897 Gelsenkirchen, in the Buer district in the north of the city. You will find links for directions under contact and directions.
When are you open?
Tuesday to Friday from 12:00 to 18:00, Saturday from 12:00 to 16:00. We are closed on Mondays and Sundays. Appointments are also possible by arrangement.

Appointments, consultation and prices
How does the consultation work?
Send us your design idea, size, placement and reference images on WhatsApp. In the consultation you and your artist discuss the design, placement, style, number of sessions and price. All the steps: the tattoo process.
How much does a small tattoo cost?
You get the exact price after the consultation, because size, placement, level of detail and colour determine the work involved. More under tattoo prices.
How old do I have to be to get a tattoo or piercing?
Tattoos are for over-18s only. Piercings under 18 only with your parents’ consent – bring the signed consent form to your appointment. We pierce ears from the age of 6, under 18 with parental consent. More under minimum age for tattoos and piercings.
Can I get a consultation in Polish?
Yes. Paul speaks fluent Polish and can advise you in Polish if you prefer. All the information is on our Polish page.
Tattoo styles and artists
Which artist does fine line tattoos?
Fine line is done by Cindy and Motte. Cindy also does delicate mandalas and dotwork. More under fine line tattoos.
Who does blackwork, black & grey and lettering?
Has Meduza Ink won any awards?
Yes. Cindy, Motte and Paul have won several prizes at tattoo conventions, including 1st places in Black & Grey (Wipperfürth and Lahnstein 2025) and Best of Small (Lahnstein 2025, Kerpen 2026). The full list is on each artist’s profile in our team section.
Piercing
Which piercings do you offer?
Levent does earlobe (lobe), helix, conch, nostril, tongue, dermal (microdermal) and nipple piercings, among others. Process and hygiene: piercing in Gelsenkirchen.
How long does a helix piercing take to heal?
Usually around 6 to 12 months. A helix piercing sits in the ear cartilage, which has a poor blood supply – so it heals more slowly than an earlobe piercing. More under helix piercing, aftercare tips under piercing aftercare.
